Go Beyond IIMs-Check the List of Best Non-IIMs Participating in CAT 2017 with Last Year Cut Off

There is surely a life beyond IIMs. No institute in this world has the power to limit an individual’s capabilities or decide his/her fate. 99% of the CAT takers who don’t make it to the country’s most sought-after b-schools must know that there’s no end to the world of opportunities. Life must have better things in store for them.

While the world-renowned IIMs (Indian Institutes of Management) are the dream-destination for every B-school aspirant in India, there are several other institutes that offer quality education.

Common Admission Test (CAT) is one of the most popular management entrance exams in India, conducted once every year. Students aspiring to get admission in management programs offered at IIMs and other top B-Schools of the country appear for this exam.

However, you should not get worried if you have scored slightly low percentile (around 80) in CAT as you still have good chances to get a call from IIMs and can still apply to top non-IIMs with great placement records.

IIMs justifiably have a good reputation among the MBA aspirants across the country as they provide best of the faculty along with opulent growth opportunities. However, there are other equally competitive Non-IIMs which build the foundation for future CEOs and Entrepreneurs. The admission to MBA programs in institutes across India is primarily based on CAT Scores.

Low or high scores in CAT, in the range of 60 to 90 and above percentile can get you shortlisted in various top MBA colleges in non- IIM category.

Choosing the Right B-School

Some of the pointers one has to look out for while selecting the right MBA schools in India are –

Academic Strength –MBA is not merely a ‘skills’ course’! – Faculty profile, Research and Innovation, and measures as the industry values a strong foundation.

Alumni Network – Well-placed Alumni reflect the status of the institute. Beyond campus placements, it is the alumni who can help foster and mentor your career.

Corporate Interface – It’s about simulated experiences. Schools need to participate in corporate competitions and have a corporate presence on campus with lectures and seminars.

Placement History – This needs to show a clear growth trajectory (especially in placement packages). It is a good indicator which shows salaries of last 100 students as well as the profiles and sectors offered.

Top CAT Participating Institutes

Most MBA aspirants in India want to secure a seat in one of the IIMs. They are known for their high-quality infrastructure, high education standards, and excellent placements. That said, however, there is life beyond IIMs! There are several other government and private institutes where the candidates can seek admission on the basis of CAT. Here are some of the top CAT participating institutes (other than IIMs) –
